Dear Jade, Shale and Amber,

It has been a long time since I have seen the three of you. It has also been quite a while since talking with your father. K.C. was my mentor and my friend. I would not be where I am now had it not been for your father and the belief he had in me. He taught me to enjoy good wine, good food, tennis and to find the good things in life. I am saddened to hear of his illness and passing. He was so vibrant in life, and I along with you have those wonderful memories of his truly amazing life.

With sincere sympathy,

Shanna (Hadlock) Angel

Dear Shale,

I was so taken back to see your father's obituary in the paper. He is such a vibrant, accomplished man. I would love to know more about his Salt Lake memorial and see you. It was 2 years and 2 days ago that my oldest son died and my own dad just a month ago. This grief stuff is hard work, but the sting lessens over time. My best to you, Jade, and Amber. Some of my very fondest memories of youth are of you and spending time in your home. Much love, Jeanie (Tate) Sharp

Dear Jade, Shale, and Amber:

I cannot begin to tell you what a hole the passing of your father has left in my heart. He was a very private man, but I feel in the 32 years we knew and worked with each other that we grew to be close friends and confidantes. I cannot thank him enough for all of the special opportunities he gave me during our relationship. He and the Department were so good to me in my career. I especially want to thank you girls for keeping me informed about your father in this very sad time. He touched a lot of lives and left a huge legacy. My only regret is that I did not get to Taiwan to see him before his health was so poor. We discussed our trip for 3 years and then the irony of it all is that we have planned a trip to China this November and planned to stop in Taiwan on our way home! I did have a 10 minute conversation with him in the hospital which will be with me always. I watched you girls grow up and become beautiful, successful, young women and the joy of your Dad's life. His memory will be carried on by all of the many lives he touched and influenced. You can be very proud of him. Take time to mourn the passing of your father. The grief will pass in time but the memories will be forever.

Love to all of you,

Vicky

Dear Shale, Amber and Jade,

I am sorry to hear of your father's passing. He was so proud of you, and spoke of you often, with a glitter in his eyes only reserved for that of a proud father.

My mother will miss him dearly, and enjoyed the many Mexican dishes she prepared for him.

He will be in our prayers, as will you.
