Kenneth Richmond Obituary
1973-2021
Salt Lake City, UT—Kenneth Richard "Rich" Richmond, of Salt Lake City, passed away surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of his home on October 31st, 2021. At the young age of 48, he faced the news of terminal cancer with courage and a sense of humor. Those who knew him wouldn't be surprised that he passed on Halloween.
He's survived by his wife Galina Pierpont; son Carter Norton Richmond; brother Rusty Robert Spriggs; stepfather Rusell Allen Spriggs; former spouse Belinda Hicks; former spouse and Carter's mother Carrie Norton; and his beloved cat Jaxxon.
Predeceased by his mother Toni W. Richmond Spriggs; and grandparents Kenneth "Buddy" Richmond and Cleah Richmond.
Rich was a devoted County employee, after a quarter of a century his coworkers were like family. While he had a reputation for being rough around the edges, he was a loyal friend and loved his family and his people fiercely.
His sudden passing and his general private nature left many saddened and surprised; instead of grieving the loss of our loved ones, let's celebrate the time we had with them.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Rich's honor at Willies Lounge, November 13, 2021 at 2:00 pm.

Dear Rusty, Russ and family! When I saw rich's name and picture I just couldnt believe it it was true! I am sad as I know you all are! He is such a vibrant soul! It just seems impossible that it's been 25 years that he walked into the Recorders and we worked together learning everything we could. We worked hard together and we shared many memories. He has so much passion for his job! And for him to not be there is so weird. We had something that I am so grateful to experience. So much time spent knowing his soul, his humor, his eyes, his everything. And the deepness of his spirit will always be with us all. He was a wonderful friend! Everybody loves richmond! He taught me so much about life, that will always be with me! I missed you before and I will always miss you Richmond. He has a new job for retirement. And if I know rich it will be in someway a service to others. That's the kind of person is was.

What a tragic loss for our community. Working for a local municipality, I came to know Rich more than 15 years ago, and we developed a great relationship. He knew his stuff and was good at his craft, but he was also a good listener and ever learning when the way things were done didn't always jive with real life issues. Together we learned that working through hard things and finding solutions together creates close relationships. God's speed, Rich. You will be missed, my friend.

This Guy.....This guy right here....Was the GOAT! He was truly one of a kind. Many, many years of back and forth trying to figure out what in the world is the public doing now? The kind of person that never judged and was always true to you and himself. So sorry for his family and all his friends. He will be missed. Rich R.I.P. Bud..... "You're harshing my mellow"

What? Who will help me when I have a question no one else can answer at the recorders office?? Rich was amazing at his job, so knowledgeable and helpful. His gruff voice could make you hesitate but then you saw that he really enjoyed being so good at what he was doing. What a great trait now days, someone who gets things done and would do it right, not always the fastest but the way it's suppose to be done. As a real estate broker I learned a lot from him about county recorders. Over the years of his help I considered him a good friend. The recorders office will not be the same. Good bye friend! Thanks for all your help.

Say it isn't so. Rich has passed on. Rich was the greatest. He's the go to guy if you needed help in the County Recorder's Office. In addition, I considered him a friend. My condolences to his family and friends. Brent Overson, former Salt Lake County Commissioner
