Marilyn Moore Obituary

1945 ~ 2017
I was born on October 31, 1945 in Payson, Utah. I passed away on February 17, 2017. My parents, Mark Allen McKell and Erma Powell, raised me and my two younger brothers (Kent Blaine McKell and Allen Glade McKell) in the small town of Spanish Fork, Utah.
My childhood was a happy one. My parents did everything they could to make me feel loved and secure. They encouraged my education and gave me many opportunities to succeed. They were there for me every step of the way.
After graduation from Spanish Fork High School, I attended Brigham Young University, with a major in English and minor in French. I spent a semester abroad in Grenoble, France, during my junior year at BYU. Later on, in my 40's, I went back to school to get a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Utah and a Master's Degree in School Counseling from the University of Phoenix.
In 1967, I married Guy Carson Frost in the Salt Lake Temple. We were married for almost 20 years before divorcing. Two daughters came into our lives as a result of this union. They have been the joy of my life!
I taught English in Nebo School District and Jordan School District for almost 20 years. The last 10 years were at Alta High School. I also taught in the Adult High School program through Jordan School District.
I met Paul Frank Moore in 1998, and we have been married for the last 18 years. He has been such a support to me. His love has kept me going in good times and challenging times. I so appreciate all he has done for me.
Some of the highlights of my life have been taking fun trips with Paul around the world, attending a book club for many years with fellow teachers, spending time with our 14 grandchildren, and scrap booking. One of my biggest downfalls in life came in the shape of anything sweet - candy, cake, cookies. I couldn't resist them!
My life has been rich and full on rewards. I was so fortunate to have a wonderful family and good friends. No one could want for more!
I am survived by my husband Paul, father Mark McKell, daughters Natalie (Alan) Peterson and Melanie (Wally) Powell, step-children Paul w. (Char) Moore, Lisa (Steve) Long, Catherine (Russell) Ferguson, and Michael W. (Patti) Moore. We have a combined number of 14 grandchildren: Chad Hopkins, Katie Leach, Jessica Moore, Driggs Moore, Abby Moore, Bryce Ferguson, Jacob Peterson, Lucy Long, Nicole Ferguson, Derek Peterson, Megan Peterson, Keaton Moore, Sullivan Moore, and Carson Powell as well as 4 great grandchildren. I am also survived by my brothers: Kent (Barbara) McKell and Alan (Wendy) McKell.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 o'clock on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy. Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday, February 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:45 AM prior to services. Interment will be at the Spanish Fork Cemetery. Paul, Natalie, Melanie and family-

I was surprised to read about Marilyn's passing. We send our condolences and share in your grieving at this time.

I have known Marilyn for a long time. Her mother, Erma was a close friend and school mate of my mother, Erna Mayer. Erma had a brother, Lynn Powell, who lived through the block right behind my house in Payson. I got acquainted with Marilyn through my mother knowing Erma. Marilyn and I lived in Sandy when our children were growing up. My daughters, Linda and Christi Ann Lloyd became acquainted with Natalie and Melanie going to Alta High School together. 3 generations of knowing Marilyn's family. Marilyn and I had a music class together at the BYU.

My husband, Dennis and I dropped in to see Paul and Marilyn one day last year. I am glad we got to meet Paul and get acquainted and visit with both Marilyn and Paul. Paul's parents were in my ward in Payson growing up. Sam Moore, cousin to Paul was also in my ward growing up. I know the Moore family as well.

Paul, Natalie, Melanie and family-

I have known Marilyn for along time. I was also born in Payson, Utah and knew Marilyn's family. Her mother, Erma was one of my mother's best friends growing up. My mother is Erna Mayer, who went to school with Erma Powell McKell. I met Marilyn through my mother knowing Erma. Marilyn and I had a music class at the BYU together. We both lived in Sandy not too far from each other. Our girls got acquainted and went to school at Alta High together, so 3 generations of knowing each other. My daughters are Linda and Christi Ann Lloyd.

My husband, Dennis and I came to visit Paul and Marilyn one day. We just showed up on your door step. I am so glad we visited with you both and got to know Paul a little bit. Paul's parents lived in my ward growing up and I had a date with Sam Moore. He was also in my ward growing up. Dennis, my husband was on the football team with Sam. He also knew the Moore family.

I was so surprised to learn of Marilyn's passing. We give our condolences and share in your grieving at this time. She was a great person and I am glad to have known her and her family.
