Michael McMillian Obituary

1988 ~ 2015
Surrounded by his family and friends our beloved son returned to his Heavenly home on Friday, March 27, 2015 due to a tragic car accident.
He was an amazing son, brother, and friend. Mikey was born on March 7, 1988 in Miami, Florida, but spent most of his life in a place that he loved, South Jordan, Utah. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in the Tennessee, Nashville Mission. He currently attended UVU where he studied marketing.
Mikey was loved by many because he loved all unconditionally. His light shone brightly and the world was a better place with him in it. Just being around him made you smile and your day a little brighter. He loved a good adventure and a good laugh. He liked to make you laugh and he picked you up when you were feeling down. He had many friends but his best friends were his brothers. He will be greatly missed but will live on due to his choice to be an organ donor.
Survived his by parents Mike and Jan, his two brothers Matthew and Mason, his extended family and many loving friends.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Country Park 7th Ward, 11400 South 2490 West, South Jordan, Utah. Viewings will be on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, and on Wednesday from 9:30-10:45 am at the church. I am Cinnamon's aunt and her husband Jason Mayne ' s sister in law. I briefly met "Mikey" through them. They had the dearest relationship/friendship with him. He seemed like such a great, fun and friendly person. I would ask Cinnamon if she wanted to hang out with me--she would always say she couldn't because she was hanging out with Mikey. I would ask her who was more important, me (family) or Mikey--she would undeniably pick him, every time. That to me showed how much they cared about him! Although I knew him very briefly, I feel such sorrow for your loss!! I have 6 kids of my own and can't even imagine the pain you and your family are going through. I had put his name in the temple before his passing, but the Lord must have needed him at this time. I continue praying for peace, strength, and comfort for all involved. I am again so sorry for your loss!!

I didn't know Mikey, but had friends who did. Just hearing them talk about Mikey was enough to have me sign this remembrance book to let you know our thoughts and prayers are with you during this hard time.

I will always remember Mikey's kind heart. His positivity was contagious, and he was always there to provide me with friendship when I was feeling down. I can only attempt to be as kind to everyone as Mikey truly was.

Dear McMillian Family,

I had the great pleasure of working with Mikey at LoveSac. I couldn't agree more with the words describing Mikey's ability to bring a room to life. He had the unique ability to get along with all and to bring a smile to the face of everyone he knew.

Mikey and I must have spent hours discussing his decision to serve an LDS mission. I was so pleased when he went on his mission. His farewell was the last time I saw him. It's been 7 or 8 years now. I was extremely saddened to learn of his passing. You have an amazing Son, Brother and Friend. The world is truly at a loss with his passing. My love, thoughts and prayers are with you. I can only hope that you remember his infectious smile and know that he touched so many lives, mine included.

Kindest Regards,
Shawn Brock

What a amazing guy, he served on his mission in a little town called Sulphur Well Ky. He left nothing but pure kindness, love for all, and a barrell of fun and joy for our small community. But the one thing that's stands out the most is his love for Christ and his desire to serve others. We loved having him in our home. We gave him the code to our house and when we would get home we would find notes saying our cabinets and fridge had been robbed. What a great friend we love u Mikey.

I have many great memories of Mikey from our High school days, including a fun formal Bingham dance that I asked him to and going to the U2 concert with him in SLC. He truly was an unconditional friend to all and touched many lives for good. He had a humble, kind and witty disposition. I'm positive he'll be busy doing important work on the other side. God be with you til we meet again Mikey.

McMillian family I'm so sorry about Mikey. I am Maddie's aunt and I had the pleasure of seeing him anytime I was in Utah. He always was fun to talk to and joke with. Maddie was very blessed to have a best buddy like him. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy. My condolences.
