Michael Steele Obituary

Michael Brent Steele

In Loving Memory

Salt Lake City, UT-Michael Brent Steele, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on October 4, 1944, in Salt Lake City, Michael was the son of Gertrude Rizzuto and Edward Steele.

A man of warmth, kindness, and humor, Michael found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed water skiing in his younger years. He was always eager to spend time enjoying the company of friends and loved ones. He especially cherished his lunches with his golf buddies, where stories and laughter were shared as freely as the meals. He also loved spending time with Downs and the many friends he made at Old Town Tavern, where camaraderie and good conversation were always in abundance.

Above all, family was at the heart of everything he did. Whether sharing laughter on the golf course or creating cherished memories with family, he lived his life with passion and generosity. Michael was a devoted father to Michelle Snow (Ryan DeWolf) and Samuel Steele (Aaron Chatterton) and a proud grandfather to Devin Grant (Britnee) and Taylor Snow (James) and his great grandchildren. He shared a lifelong bond with his sisters, Penny (Lloyd Mills) and Kathleen (Robert Young). Michael also had a special friendship with Leo, Lisa, and their family and considered them a second family.

His presence brought light to those around him, and his legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Michael will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain with us. A celebration of Michael's life will be held in the spring.

I was sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I knew Mike growing up on the west side and later we worked together at the Kennecott mine. Whenever we would run into each other our greeting would always be the same. Hey, Michael B. and he would say Hey, Michael P. He was a good man.
