NATHAN HALLIDAY Obituary

Nathan Kurt Halliday Loving Brother and Husband Nathan Kurt Halliday was born on March 16, 1963 in Murray, UT and passed away peacefully on January 28, 2010, at his home in San Dimas, CA, after a brief and brave battle with cancer. He struggled with an immune deficiency disease throughout his life but it never seemed to get him down. He was always friendly and pleasant to be with. Nathan enjoyed outdoor activities with family and friends, and the family cabin was his favorite place to gather, play games, hike, hunt, and enjoy everyone. Nathan graduated from Murray High School, served a mission to San Diego, CA, and later pursued a photography career with his brother, Paul who was his best friend; the family referred to them as "the boys". He loved serving in the gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was dedicated to his responsibilities. He met Grace Chiu, the love of his life, married her in the Salt Lake Temple on November 30, 2007, and moved to Los Angeles to start a new life. He is survived by his wife, Grace, and siblings: Esther, Joan, LeeAnn Wilkins, Connie West, George (Cynthia), Paul (Cynthia) and Sarah (Olaf) Questereit and many nieces and nephews who love him and will miss his fun loving personality. His parents George Vance and Lelia Halliday preceded him in death. The viewing will be on Thursday, February 4, 2010, 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, Murray, UT. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2010, 11:00 a.m., in the Murray First Ward Chapel, 363 E. Vine Street, Murray, UT. Interment: Murray City. A special thanks to the California Charter Oak Ward members and neighbors, and to friends who loved and cared for him. Online condolences at www.jenkins-soffe.com

Dear family,
I was saddened to hear of Nate's passing. What memories the Murray 1st Ward brings to my mind. I'll always remember our trip to Lake Powell when Jeff and I were called as YM & YW leaders. We were barely older than Nate, but what fun memories we had! Your family has endured much with the passing of both parents, but what a wonderful reunion they must be having. May you strive as a family to live your lives so that you can be with them again in eternity.

Pollinate! The two funnest brothers ever! I have spent many years being friends with (the boys) traveling, camping, hiking, snowmobiling and just hanging out. Nathan will be missed dearly. He is in a better place, happy and comfortable. Lucky Nate has a beautiful wife, wonderful Grace, that will eventually be with him again. Halliday family, hang in there, you are great and you are strong for each other. Paul, thanks for being a great example of a best friend to your brother. Great memories that I will never forget.

Love to all,
Timmerie Jensen

Halliday Family,

I have such great memories from my childhood of being at your house when Lela babysat me and my sister. I loved being part of such a big, fun family even if it was only until my mom picked me up each day. I remember trying to climb into the tree house with Sarah while Nathan and Paul would encourage me. They were like big brothers I never had! My heart goes out to you at the loss of Nathan. I am sure the reunion with your parents was bittersweet. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

I was sad to read about Nate's passing. I was instantly thrown back in time when we were all there on Benbow Street in Murray. Nate was one of the Benbow street gang. The softball games on the street, roller skating in packs, scout and church activities. This and his fun loving personality is how I will remember my childhood friend Nate.

I am so happy that Randal and I were able to call Nate on the phone and talk with him two weeks ago. We were saddened to hear of his passing so soon. He has such great soul. I have fond memories of snow shoeing to the cabin and watching Nate cross country ski the whole way. He will be missed. I am grateful I knew him.

I worked with Nate at Great Western Plumbing Supply for 2 years. Nate always had a quiet spirit that I enjoyed. He was a very hard and dedicated worker, and always kept a good attitude. I remember the day Nate told me he was getting married. I never saw a man with that big of a smile. I will always remember you "Nate Dog"

This news brings some sadness to my heart today. Nate is a friend that holds a special place in my heart. I am so sorry to learn of his struggle with cancer and passing. Grace, my heart goes out to you. I must have been a hard struggle the last few months. Paul and Cynthia, my thoughts are with you as well. I know you will all miss him terribly. I wish I could be there at the funeral to see you all and hear the wonderful remembrances that will be shared there.
(Grace, you may not remember me by name, but we met about the time you got married. At that time I lived in Murray)
