Don't Quit When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all up hill, When the funds are low, and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest if you must, but don't you quit. Life is strange with its twists and turns, As everyone of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about, When she might have won and she stuck it out, Don't give up though the paced seems slows, You may succeed with another blow. Success is failure turned inside out. The silver tint of the clouds of doubt. And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far. So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit, It's when things seem worst, THAT YOU MUST NOT QUIT!

We're sorry to hear that Trish lost her battle with cancer. She was such a fighter and positively determined to win. My mother and I met Trish this last summer at the Utah Cancer Center where they were both undergoing radiation treatment for breast cancer. Trish was amazing. She was fighting cancer on several fronts and yet remained so full of life, compassion, and humor. She was determined to live every minute and defeat was not going to be an option. She encouraged other patients to go the distance and shared her cancer story and her belief in embracing hope always.
She talked to us about the neighbors and friends she had adopted as family and how good they had all been to her. She told us about the beauty of loving and being loved by Tony and the pride and love she had for her boys in West Virginia. Since my Mother and family are also from West Virginia there seemed to be an instant warmth between us. But I know other patients felt this way also because she sort of lit up the room when she came in. She wasn't about to sit around waiting for radiation feeling sorry for herself or being gloomy. She had things to say, questions to ask, and ideas to talk about! Needless to say- everyone looked forward to seeing her on their own radiation day. She had joy and shared it!
Mine and my other's thoughts are with all of you. We hope your sweet memories bring some comfort in your journey on without Trish.

Tony and Mary,

You are in our thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time. We couldn't ask for more fine and thoughtful neighbors. We especially enjoyed spending time with you and Trish at our neighborhood Christmas parties over the past several years. Watching the joy and peace on Trish's face as she listened to the beautiful Christmas music at this year's event will always be a special memory.

May God be with you.

Tony,

May the warm memories of your time together ease the pain of your loss. I didn't know Trish well, but when I visited Nancy and Pat, I always looked forward to seeing her big smile, and hearing her wonderful laugh. I think she really got a kick out of life.
