PAUL FORE Obituary

Paul Edward Fore 1952 ~ 2009 , Our wonderful husband, father, and dearest friend, Paul Edward Fore, passed away at home on October 14, 2009 after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer. He was true to family, friends and the Lord to the very end. He was born to Clyde and Barbara Giesz Fore on March 7, 1952 in Elgin, IL. When 15 years old he was converted and baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a young man he enjoyed scouting, working at radio stations, chemistry and church plays. He served an honorable mission to Mexico from 1971-1973. His missionary friends are still some of his closest friends. He graduated from BYU in Chemistry with a bachelor of science and masters degrees. It was at BYU he met his wife, Rebecka Clarke in their family home evening group. Friendship turned to love and they married in the Salt Lake City Temple September 20, 1974. Paul always gave his best effort to whatever task he was given. There was none more dependable. When called to a scouting position he took an EMT course to help him with possible scouting emergencies. From there he served 23 years as volunteer EMT, directed the Snow College EMT Program for years and taught EMTs on a state level. He began his teaching career at Timpview High School then moved to Ephraim, Utah five years later to teach at Snow College. He dearly loved his colleagues at Snow and the students he taught. He inspired many students to go in the medical, pharmacy and chemistry fields. One student commented that he was "more like a father than just a teacher." He loved serving in his church callings, be it scout master, bishop's counselor, bishop of Ephraim 4th Ward, the President of Snow College Stake and councilor in the Ephraim Stake where he served until his death. He was a patient and kind husband and father with a streak of good humor. Survived by his wife Rebecka Fore; Benjamin Fore, Logan, UT; Kellie (Troy) Braun, Sierra Vista, AZ; Laura (Alan) Cleaver, Spokane, WA; June (Ryan) Johnson, Salem, OR; Deven (Alicia) Fore, Pleasant Grove, UT; Melissa (Jason) Streiff, Lehi, UT; Miles Fore, Salt Lake City, UT; father, Clyde Fore and brother, William Barron both in DeKalb, IL and 14 grandchildren. It was hard for him to leave the family and friends he loved so much. Paul worked tirelessly for the Lord in life and will do so beyond the veil. Paul we love you and we'll miss you so much. We are grateful for the wonderful care he received at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, Sanpete Valley Hospital, Manti Clinic, IHC Hospice and "Our" wonderful nurse Helen. Funeral services will be held Monday, October, 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ephraim LDS Stake Center. Friends may call Sunday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Monday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. both in the Ephraim LDS Stake Center. Interment in the Ephraim Park Cemetery under the care of Rasmussen Mortuary. Contributions can be made to the IHC Hospice or to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Pauls name. Online condolences at www.rasmussenmortuary.com

Dear Fore Family, I am sorry to hear of the passing of Paul. I took Chemistry from him about 20 years ago and would point to Mr. Fore as a deciding factor in my life for persuing chemistry as a career. He was always kind, encouraging and fun-loving. I am thankful to have been one of his students. My deepest sympathies. Sincerely, David Simmons

Dear Becky and family:
We have just learned of the passing of your dear Paul. A gifted teacher, a loving husband and father, a Christlike friend. He served everyone he worked with well. His students loved and respected him. It is obvious that his family adored him. We send our love, sympathy and highest esteem to you in his behalf. He is relieved from his suffering. He has gone to prepare a place for his family. May God sustain and support you and comfort you. While it has been 20 years since we left Ephraim, we remember the Fores with love and admiration! God bless you!
With love and sympathy,
Steve and Marj Bennion and family

We are sorry to hear of your loss. He was an amazing man. I took his chemistry classes at Snow and was his teacher's/lab assistant. He taught me so many things and skills to help me throughout my college career that really helped me. He encouraged me and expected only the best from me. He was always kind and had a great sense of humor. The world will miss this great man.

My condolences to the friends and family of Paul Fore. Twenty-five years ago I was a student of Paul's. He made life easier for a kid leaving home for the first time with his simple gift of kindness and encouraging words. I have thought of him often in the intervening years and expected to hear of him again. I am sorry that the news was of his passing. I join you in mourning. May you find comfort among one another and your memories of a very nice man.
