Peter Howey Obituary
Peter Scott Howey, 24, of North Salt Lake Utah, joined his Family in Heaven after a fatal motorcycle accident on August 9, 2017. He was born January 18, 1993 to Chad and Marci Howey in Bountiful, Utah. Peter graduated from Woods Cross High School where he played basketball and was involved in the drama program. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Science from Weber State University, he had just passed the LSAT and was looking forward to Law School. Peter served a LDS mission in the Philippines where he met the love of his life, Jenny Mower. They were married and sealed in the SLC Temple on August 8, 2014. Peter loved his life and had a way of making people feel important, included, and loved. He had a kind heart and shared it with everyone. Peter had the best sense of humor and was always cracking jokes, the life of the party, and he made every situation better. He was the one people wanted to be around. He loved riding motorcycles and racing cars with his father and brother. They were constantly planning the next project to work on. Peter's love for his family was always present, he was a son, husband, soon to be father, brother, grandson, missionary, leader, and friend.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at the LDS Church in North Salt Lake, Utah 55 E 350 N Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the LDS Church in North Salt Lake, Utah 55 E 350 N.

We love you and your family so much. I know that you were a great man Peter. Jenny, I don't know if you remember, I told you at the viewing that if you need anything for yourself or the baby to let Marci know to get a hold of me and let me know. We will figure it out. Chad and Marci, let's get together soon. I love you so much. I know that Peter has something very important to do in heaven. And as my youngest daughter always tells me. Only the good die young. Peter was just that special. Again we love you all.

I had the pleasure of having Peter as my home teaching companion for an extended period of time. He was always willing to go and brightened the lives of the families we visited. He was a special young man and it was obvious he was raised in a family full of love for each other. My prayers for comfort and peace to every family member of the Howey family.

I count a blessing knowing Peter, Emily, Elizabeth......and your friendship and love, Marci! I'm heartbroken and plead for the Lord's tangible spirit to be with your precious family!.........So many memories of Peter, when he walked into a YM/YW activity, he brightened the room! How I loved his little sister Emily in YW!!! and then later teaching sunday school with Elizabeth, I love the Howey family, I know this is a temporary separation but so very hard~~~ I remember Peter blessing the sacrament, going and returning from his mission, meeting his new fiancee.....I love that your family is so close and all of your children's best friends were each other! I was so saddened to hear of Peter's passing. I was his Sunday School teacher for a time, and I thought he was just such a happy, positive, good influence on all around him. My heart goes out to all the Howey family and especially his wife. May God comfort you with happy remembrances of times shared together and with the knowledge that families are forever, however hard that separation time may be, it isn't the end. Words cannot express my sadness upon hearing of the loss of your son. He sounds like a wonderful young man, one who has blessed many lives and will undoubtedly be missed by all who knew him.
