Steven Larkin Obituary

1946 ~ 2017
Salt Lake City, Utah-On Wednesday, November 16th, 2017, our beloved Partner, Brother, Uncle and Friend, Steven Larkin, passed away at his home in Holladay, surrounded by family and friends. Steve was born on March 27th, 1946 to June and James Larkin in the small town of Granite, UT. He grew up on a mink ranch and fruit farm which gave him his work ethic of being a hard worker. Steve graduated from Jordan High School and attended BYU. Steve was caring and selfless. His generosity and kindness along with his unconditional love will remain in our hearts forever. Steve loved gardening especially flowers. He will truly be missed. There was nothing that he couldn't grow. Steve was a master chef who loved to cook and entertain. He loved to travel especially going on cruises. He loved his animals. His nickname was the Larkin Zoo Keeper, which he proudly displayed on his work hat. He was devoted to his cats, Ricky and Sabrina and three schnauzers - Ebony, Tucker and Chloie. He loved his goose, Chatter, and many chickens -- too many to name. He worked for the Newspaper Agency Corporation until retirement, and then he became a tax consultant to help keep him busy. Steve is survived by his brothers Kent (Pat) and Emerson (Ann) and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his partner, Michael Kaze. Funeral services will be held November 22 at 2:00 pm. at Mountain View Memorial Mortuary and Cemetery at 3115 East 7800 South, Salt Lake City, UT. We acknowledge First Choice Hospice and Home Health Care for their kind, loving and generous care and support.

Steve entered my life as a Land Lord...after time became a quiet Giant of a Soul who shared his Home, his Family, his Animal Kingdom and Stunning 6ardens as mine. He cared for my family and exemplified the true meaning of selfless love. An impressive example of what we can only hope to emulate as what being a Gentile Human should be. His ability to endure life's obstacles and challenges (that would crumble the best of us), was miraculous. Open Heart Surgeries, Diabetes, multiple skin cancer surgeries, continuous oral surgeries, Hodgekins limphoba, pneumonia, and still serve the Grandest Thanksgiving Buffet for his Larkin Family with a raw unattended to, broken knee . Never complained. He has earned a seat next to his Creator. The Best of our Heroes go unsung !
All our Love and Prayers to Mike and Emerson for their giving Steve the loving care he so deserved.

I worked withe Steve at the Newspaper Agency. He was always kind and generous. I got to be on the receiving end of his fabulous cooking and his gift for entertaining. Rest well.
