TED MORGAN Obituary

Ted "Teddy" Morgan 1923 ~ 2010 Ogden- Ted Morgan passed peacefully away November 9, 2010. He was born January 28, 1923 to Nate and Etta Morgan in Pocatello, ID. He attended school in Pocatello and USC. Ted served in the army during World War II. On July 30, 1953 Ted married Sandy Harris in Las Vegas, NV., together they had four children. They were later divorced. On January 5, 1980 Ted Married Sheri Peterson Martin. Ted's father started a very successful jewelry business in 1914. In 1952 Ted's father opened his fourth jewelry store in Provo, UT., that Ted managed. Ted was partners with his two brothers after their fathers passing. Both brothers eventually sold their shares to Ted who built the stores to 17 locations in six western states. Ted loved and enjoyed all aspects of the business, from the stores to the buying trips and jewelry conventions. Ted served on the board of directors and as President of Leading Jewelers Guild. Ted was loved and respected by most of the jewelry industry. Ted was a member and served on the board of directors of the Ogden Golf and Country Club. He was active in the Ogden Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Ogden Merchants associations, and many jewelry associations throughout the country. He loved golfing, his family, and great friends. Ted is survived by his wife Sheri, his four children; Marietta (Bart) Priest, Pleasant View, Nate (Val) Morgan, Sandy, Mitzi (Tim) Bissell, Desert Hills, AZ.,Cathy (Duane) Beus, Ogden, 16 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers Bud and Mel Morgan and his son Charley. There will be a service given by his children, 11:00 a.m. Monday November 15, 2010 at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Friends and family may call Sunday November 14, 2010, from 6-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services Monday, at the Mortuary. Inurnment at the Church of The Good Shepherd Columbarium, in a private service at a later date. In lieu of flowers please send a donation to the charity of your choice. A special thanks to Applegate Hospice, Scott and Coundy, Mt. Ridge Assisted Living for the wonderful care they gave to Ted. Ted was a wonderful gentleman and will be so very greatly missed. My love to the family. I have fun memories of Ted at the Springs Country Club. What a happy kind person he was. A wonderful family. I feel honored to have known him and miss seeing Sheri. Keep up the legacy your father set. Bless you all. Sue Turner Mannos

I had the honor of working for Ted in his corporate office. Mr. Morgan was always kind, caring and a wonderful man to be around. I only have fond memories of Ted, he will be missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.
