Tony Menna Obituary
Sandy, Utah - It is with great sadness we share the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend Tony Menna on May 21, 2018. He was born March 29, 1938 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Tony and Jessie Oneida Menna. He graduated from Bingham High School, served in the Marines. He retired from Kennecott Copper and the LDS Church. He married Edith Webb Menna May 5, 1959 later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple May 9, 1967. His greatest joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved fishing and camping. He served an LDS Service Mission. He is survived by his wife Edith; son, Robert F; his daughters, Sharlene Hunt, Marie (Davison) Cheney, Margaret (Cory) Hill, Ruth (Jeff) Petersen, Linda (Gary) Christensen; he had 21 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Keith; sister Isabel. Funeral Services will be at the Hillcrest 9th Ward, 915 Peach Blossom Drive, Sandy, Utah Saturday, May 26, 2018 11:00 AM. Visitation will be at the Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah, Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment will be Tuesday, May 28, 2018; 2:30 PM at Lake Hills Memorial Park. To express condolences to the family please go to www.memorialutah.com

I was fortunate enough to meet Tony and Edith through my wife, Genean. She and Edith grew up together in the same neighborhood and were best of friends growing up together. From my first contact with Tony I liked and admired him. I was drawn to him through his humor and his friendly easy going manner around people. He had a infectious laugh that was genuine and pure. Tony and Edith spent a lot of time with their kids and grandchildren. You could see how much they loved each other. We were fortunate enough to spend time together, going to dinner and camping. It was always hard making arrangements because of our busy lives. But we always enjoyed spending time together when we could. We will miss him. He was a good and gentle soul.
