James Faggioli
1946 ~ 2018
Vincent James Faggioli, 71, of Mililani, Hawaii passed away peacefully at home 2 October 2018. Born 12 November 1946 in SLC, Utah to Vince & Pauline Faggioli he lived a very active life of constant learning, serving others, & excelling in everything he did. His accomplishments would fill volumes, & yet he was humble enough as a Colonel to address a Private as "Sir". He served an LDS mission in the Cook Islands & carried a lifelong love for all things Polynesian. He married Karen Adams in the Salt Lake Temple in 1971. He earned a BS from the U of U in Political Science with a Certificate in Int'l Relations, a Masters' in Public Admin, a JD Law Degree, an LL.M. Degree from the US Army Judge Advocates School, an LL.M. in Tax & Gov't Contracts & an LL.M. in Int'l Law with highest honors. He yearned for knowledge in all facets of life, traveled the world, & loved participating in all sports, especially golf, basketball, baseball, & rugby. He served in the US Army for 30 years, retiring as a full Colonel in the JAG Corps & continued in Gov't Service as an attorney for 14 years retiring a second time, from Civilian Senior Executive Service. He was a true patriot! He loved his country, God, family, & showed his love by a lifetime of service. Vince was dedicated to learning & professionalism as a gov't attorney, but was still able to find ways to bring laughter & humor into the lives of others in any setting including the workplace. Vincent is survived by his wife, Karen Anne (Adams), son, Vincent James II (wife Amanda), brothers, David Lamar & Douglas (wife Janice), & granddaughters Amelia Anne & Evangeline Lee who were the light of his life. Funeral Services held 20 October in Mililani, Hawaii. Graveside Services at 11am 27 October, Lehi City Cemetery Lehi, Utah.

I just tried to check in with my friend, only to discover he had moved on. I hope that Karen and Vince's family will receive this note, although it has been many months since Vince's Passing. I was so fortunate to work with and get to know Vince while assigned to POD in Hawaii. Kind, committed, passionate, exceptionally funny, and oh so smart, he was one of a kind. May God's grace ease the pain of his loss.
