Carol Jenkins Obituary

Carol Jenkins
November 24, 1934 - September 11, 2024
Carol Ann Lembke McKee Jenkins, born in Los Angeles, CA on November 24, 1934, to Glenn and Annette Lembke passed away surrounded by love on September 11, 2024. Carol was preceded in death by husband, Allan Jenkins and son, Brian McKee and many loving cats.
Carol made it a point to attend every school, sport and scout event, band concert and anything else that Brian and Allison were involved with while growing up. She continued this dedication with her grandchildren and all their events. A devoted educator, she retired in 1991 after a rewarding career in Special Education with North East Independent School District. Her passion for reading, genealogy and exploring Civil War and WWII history enriched her life. She enjoyed cheering on her alma mater, the UT Longhorns, every football season. Above all, Carol cherished her time relaxing with her beloved cats, traveling to see family and friends, scrap booking about her trips and family; and making a few fun trips to Europe.
She is survived by daughter Allison and husband Matt Wyrick of TN; grandson Nathan and wife Vanessa McKee of NM; granddaughter Amber and husband Brandon Petrosky of TX and their children Zakary, Ryleigh, Wesley and Lyndee. Nothing made Carol happier than being "Gigi" to her "4 great grands" as she called them. She is also survived by her nephew Bill Hardwick, who frequently visited to brighten her day.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Inn at Los Patios Assisted Living for their compassionate and loving care, to Liberty & Bealle Phillips, who shared lively history discussions with Carol during her journeys to dialysis and to Harbour Hospice for helping her & her family through the last months of her life.
Carol will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her, especially when we see a cat, a reminder of her independent and spirited nature.
In lieu of flowers, spend time with your family - make memories! Donations are also welcomed in Carol's honor to Bridge 2 History (part of Operation Meatball) - a WW2 educational nonprofit run by Liberty or the Staff bonus funs at The Inn at Los Patios- Assisted Living.

Carol was my English teacher at Ed White back in 1986. She was my favorite teacher in all my years. Her and I stayed in contact the last 39 years. I miss her dearly. I drove by her house not too long ago and noticed things were different and started searching for her and found out about her passing. My condolences to the family. Carol was an angel, and she is dearly missed

Carol, you and I have been friends for a long time. I was afraid of your cats, and you
took care of me as a young teacher at Ed White. You and I would be each others' TBF AND TWF for many years after we stopped teaching together. I would always look forward to seeing all your pictures of traveling all over. You will be missed. Love, Janice, TBF

I taught with Carol at Ed White Middle School for many years. We laughed when she said she lived on King Arthur street, between Lancelot and Guinevere! She was a devoted teacher and I learned a lot from her example.
