Clovis Maximilian Boehme
February 24, 1932 - April 6, 2023
Clovis Maximilian Boehme passed away at his home in Castroville on April 6, 2023 at the age of 91. He was born February 24, 1932 in Castroville, Texas to the late Robert Ferdinand Boehme and Dolphia Evelyn Haby Boehme.
Clovis graduated from St. Louis Catholic High School in 1950. He served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War. After his discharge from the Navy, he married Dorothy Jean Bendele on April 23, 1955 at St. John's Catholic Church in Hondo. He was a member of the Weiss-Wurzbach American Legion Post 460 in Castroville. In 1995, after forty-five years of employment with Southwestern Bell Telephone he retired. He was a retired CWA, member of St. Louis Society since 1958, member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Quihi Gun Club, Koenig Park Foundation, former Castroville VFD member, served on the Castroville Chamber of Commerce Board, and served one term on the Castroville City Council. Clovis was head of the committee that was in charge of the extensive restoration of St. Louis Catholic Church in 1972.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Roxanne Seale of Dallas, Dianne and Randy Pipes of San Antonio, and Suzanne and Craig Heiligman of Castroville; grandchildren, Michelle Seale Ginnard (Michael), Mark Seale (Ashley), Nathan Pipes (Joyce), Andrew Pipes (Shannon), Megan Nickel (Weston), and Weston Heiligman (Hannah); great grandchildren, Olivia, Jacob and Ruby Ginnard, Lane and Perry Seale, Grace and Jackson Pipes, Maximilian Pipes, Hunter, Hadley and Henley Nickel, and great granddaughter Heiligman "on the way"; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Wayne Balzen; and her sisters-in-law, Marjean Boehme and Annette Bendele.
Clovis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Jean Boehme; son-in-law, Keith Seale; brothers and sisters-in-law, Welton and JoAnn Boehme, John Boehme; in-laws Lynn and Helen Boehme and Armin Charles Bendele.
Visitation will be Monday, April 17, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at St. Louis Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow the Holy Rosary at 10:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.
Memorials may be made in Clovis' memory to St. Louis Catholic Church or to the charity of your choice.
