David Alcocer Obituary

ALCOCER
David Alcocer, Sr. born December 29, 1924 in Matehuala, S.L.P. Mexico died April 26, 2009 in San Antonio, Texas. Predeceased by his mother, Paula Alcocer; sister, Socorro Siller; ex-wife, Olga P. Alcocer; infant son, Douglas Dario Alcocer. He is survived by daughters, Diana, Deborah of Richardson, Desiree Scott ( Russell) of Dallas and Bertha Alcocer (Dion Padilla); sons, David II (Teresa) of Round Rock, Daniel (Imelda), Mario Parra; grandchildren: Stephen Rodriguez, Erica, Alexander, Lisa and Christopher Alcocer, Mia and Victoria Scott, Ayana Alcocer, Jacob Padilla, Mario Jr., and Mark Parra; brothers, Jose Rojas (Alicia) of San Antonio, Rafael Rojas and sister Yolanda Rojas of Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico and ex-wife, Juanita C. Alcocer; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army having served in Korea and the Philippine Islands. He worked with General Electric on the Defense Early Warning System (DEWS) in Thule, Greenland in the late 50's. He was a 60 year member of Local 67 Sheet Metal Workers Union. A Memorial Rosary will be recited on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, (between Stone Oak Parkway-Voigt Dr. and Hwy 281). Tiempos como estos de dolor y angustia nos pueden acaecer a cualquiera. No obstante, el saber que hay una esperanza para nuestros seres queridos que mueren es consolador.
Jesucristo mismo lo dijo, "No se maravillen de esto, porque viene la hora en que todos los que están en las tumbas conmemorativas oirán su voz y saldrán..."(Juan 5:28-29). Como notamos volveremos a estar con nuestros padres e hijos que hayan fallecido. Sin lugar a dudas podemos confiar en lo que Jesús dijo de si mismo a continuación, "Yo soy la resurrección y la vida. El que ejerce fe en mí, aunque muera, llegará a vivir"(Juan 11:25).
