Dolores Gatica Obituary
Dolores A. Gatica born February 11, 1948 passed away August 25, 2012 at the age of 64. She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Conley; sons, Armando Jr., David and Guadalupe Gatica; sisters, Ofelia Zamarripa, Beatrice Gutierrez and Maria Rodriguez; brother, Jose Angel Alvarado; 13 grandchildren. Visitation will begin Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 4:00PM till 9:00PM at Delgado Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.

The beautiful loving Dolores Gatica aka my Thia Lola was a strong woman who fought until the end, never giving up on her family or life itself. She was very intelligent woman with a great a sense of humor and a she had a heart of goal. I had the pleasure of spending my most memorable moments with her. Whether it be all of us dressing up for Halloween as kids to go trick or treating, doing a face painting for her because she wanted to be a cat for our Halloween party one year, working with her at her second job at the San Antonio College, meeting up with her and my mother Ofelia to play Bingo, or talking with her on the phone for hours just to catch up on life. She was always a good listener and always gave good advice. I always had a great time with her no matter what. She was very close to my mother Ofelia her youngest sister, and they did everything together. They would car pooling with each other to go to doctors appointments, they would meet up for breakfast or lunch, visit each other at their apartment, watch novels together while talking on the phone and even sharing receipts. My Thia Lola could cook the best cookies and cinnamon rolls too!
She was the oldest of the three sisters and everyone knew it because of her strong well liked personality. She was a great daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend anyone can ever have. If anyone had the pleasure of knowing her you are truly blessed because we lost a great person. I will always love my Thia Lola and she meant the world to me but I know she is a better place. She is in the kingdom of Heaven, where she is young, healthy, running, jumping, dancing and is overjoyed reuniting with loved ones like her brothers Joe, David, Antonio & Justo, her parents Ofelia & Antonio Alvarado, her beloved husband Armando Gatica, her mother in law Mrs. Gatica, and her niece Sophie & nephew Tito.
She will never be forgotten in my heart or my mind. She will live on in spirit and she will protect and watch over us. I know that she is looking down on us right now and if you can hear me now Thia Lola, please know that I loved you so much!

We were so sad to hear of Dolores' death. She was such a sincere and genuine person and we will miss her. i hope her family will remember the good times they had with her Our most sincere condolences to the family. It can be so hard to face the years without her but the love of your family and friends can carry you through.
