Dora Chavarria Obituary

June 1, 1948 - November 21, 2017
A beloved and dear Mom and Nana, Dora Elia Chavarria, was called home by the Lord, and was reunited with her husband, Rogelio T. Chavarria, on November 21, 2017. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, on June 1, 1948. Dora was a life-giving woman with many interests. During her youth, she was a pool shark and played baseball, which led to her interest in sports.
She remained an avid fan of the Dallas Cownboys and San Antonio Spurs. She was into model cars, and collected angels and cherubs. Musical dancing figurines for all occasions could be found throughout - including the dashboard of her car! She is loved and will be greatly missed by her adoring children, Mary Chavarria and Roger Chavarria; grandchildren, Ivy and Raymond Castro, and Sabrina and Roger Chavarria; her Penkingese, Snoopy; extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2017, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Procession will depart at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2017, for a 10 a.m. Graveside Service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Dora,

Can't believe you have been gone for 4 years now. But you always come up in my conversations when I talk about my childhood. You were a funny neighbor wish we didn't move. Thank you for helping my mom and just being there all those years.

Dora,
I never got a chance to meet you, but my wife said you were a funny strong woman. She said as a child you were always good to her and her siblings. I pray that God will guide your family during this time. God Bless.

Dora,
Thank you for always being there and being a good neighbor. I remember all the cookouts we used to have. Oh I remember how you loved those crossword puzzles and oh those prizes you won from listening to the radio stations. Mary and Roger will always be children to us. May God continue to give them strength and comfort and they continue to keep you alive through their lives. You will be greatly missed!! We love you Mary and Roger.

Dora,
I can't believe you are gone but you will be missed. Thank you for being there for our family and being a friend to my mother. You were a funny neighbor, you helped me get my driver's license by letting me use your car and I thank you for that. I hope that your children will keep your memory alive and continue to tell their children about you. I pray that God will give direction, peace, strength to the family during this difficult time. Roger and Mary May God Bless You!! Be there for each other to comfort and honor your mom.
