Edith Strange Obituary

Edith Harvey Strange, born August 20, 1912 in Aquilla, Texas, passed away May 30, 2005 at the age of 92. Mrs. Strange was a member of the Burleson Family Association, Texas Restaurant Association, Grace Presbyterian Church, and Alumni of the Providence Hospital Nursing School of Waco. She was the Co-founder of Don Strange of Texas, Inc. Mrs. Strange was preceded in death by her husband, Werner E. 'Joe' Strange in 1972. Survivors include her sons: Rev. John H. Strange, Phd. and Don Strange and wife Frances; a sister, Lyndal Messec of Houston, Texas; grandchildren: Brian Strange, Matthew Strange, Jason Strange and Johanna Strange; great-grandchildren: Emily, Alexandra, Austin, Molly, Jake, Parker and Olivia Strange; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. SERVICES The family will receive friends from 4:00 6:00 PM Wednesday, June 1, at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Committal services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 2 at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum followed by Memorial Services at 12:00 PM at Grace Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. John R. Hendrick and Rev. Dwight West officiating. Friends are invited to attend a reception following services in the Fellowship Hall of Grace Presbyterian Church, 950 Donaldson, San Antonio, Texas 78228. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to Grace Presbyterian Church or the Roy Maas Youth Alternative Fund. The family wishes to express their appreciate to the staff of Morningside Manor and Methodist Specialty Hospital and Dr. Robert Schnitzler and staff for their care.
