I am so sorry to learn that the world has lost a real champion. Dr. George Lowry "drove my Cadillacs off" more than 20 years ago, and now, at 90, I still have almost perfect vision. What a blessing! Thank you, Dr. Lowry...and thank You, Lord for the blessings he helped bring to this world.

Dr. Lowry was out family Opthalmologist since the early-mid 60s, seeing not only my widowed Mom (at the time), but my 2 older sisters, my brother & myself as needed. He removed a shard of dog bone that flew up & imbedded itself into my sister´s eye while she was mowing the lawn. The operation was a complete success & she suffered no I´ll effects from the surgery, having better eyesight than she had before this accident. I was always nearsighted for as long as I can remember & prone to really, really bad headaches while reading (which was & is my favorite form of relaxation) & while doing schoolwork/homework, often getting sick in the middle of lessons. It was Dr. Lowry who suggested to my mother that although I could pass the school eye exams, always sitting in the front row of the classroom, holding my books close to my face & the very frequent migraine-like headaches were a definite sign that I needed my eyes examined & that I probably needed glasses. What a difference they made for me & continue to do so. He prescribed the 1st of many pairs of glasses for me. He also performed one of the 1st Corneal Transplants on my stepdad using glass lenses back then (~mid-late 70s). So he was our eye doctor for many, many years. The last time I saw him & was prescribed new lenses was ~2011 & of course, I had meant to see him again in several years. But other surgeries took precedence & then came Covid, which from reading his obituary, he was already retired & ill by then.
I want his family to know that his many years of loyal, optimal & precision care of his patients´ eyes, along with his great sense of humor are truly appreciated & will be greatly missed.
it´s been very difficult to find another Opthalmologist of his caliber to continue my eye care. He is ever so missed. May his memory be for a blessing & may he Rest In Peace.
