George F. Persyn

George Frank Persyn, age 94, of Castroville, TX, passed away March 4, 2008 in San Antonio. George was born December 16, 1913 in San Antonio to Gustaaf and Aline Baecke Persyn. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, charter member and member Emeritus of the Belgian-American Club, and a member of the South Texas Truck Farmers Association. His parents and his first wife, Estelle Helen Precious Vander Poorten Persyn preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Lorine Stein Boehme Persyn of Castroville; 7 children and their spouses, George G. & Jeannine Persyn of Castroville, Steve & Elaine Persyn of Castroville, Eugene & Karen Persyn of Comfort, John & Karen Persyn of San Antonio, Thomas Persyn of San Antonio, Deborah & Joey Weiblen of London, England, Suzanne & David Turk of South Lake; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers & sisters-in-law, Aviel & Virginia Persyn of San Antonio, Marshel & Joy Persyn of Castroville; sister & brother-in-law, Margaret & Martin Burrell of San Antonio; step children & their spouses, Virgil & Nora Fay Boehme, Emil Boehme, Mary Louise & Billy Echtle, all of Castroville; step daughter-in-law, Alice Ray Boehme of La Coste; 8 step grandchildren; 18 step great-grandchildren; 1 step great-great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, March 7, 2008 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Rosary will be Friday, March 7, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church, Castroville. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church. Entombment will follow the Mass at St. Louis Catholic Garden Mausoleum.
