Jack Aaron Efron, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on December 14, 2024, at the age of 90. Surrounded by his loving family, he left us peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.

Born on December 21, 1933, Jack was the son of Abe and Ellen Efron, and brother to Barbara Efron Argo and Richard H. Efron. He was born and raised in San Antonio and in his early years worked alongside his father at his Texaco Service station where he observed and learned the values of hard work, dedication and customer service. Many lawyers and local political figures traded at the station and this him to embark in the legal world.

Jack was the patriarch of the family who led by example as a man of deep faith committed to his Judaism, a devoted family man, and a respected attorney for over 55 years. He attended the University of Texas and St. Mary's Law School, becoming licensed to practice law in 1957. His life truly began when he married Mitzi Muller Efron on December 3, 1961, at Temple Beth-El. Together, they raised their children with faith, self-discipline, and love, along with convictions of hard work and resilience.

Jack Efron was dedicated to his Jewish community and synagogue, Agudas Achim. He served in my capacities including President of the congregation and chairman of the very successful annual Israeli Festival. He also served many other Jewish organizations in San Antonio, including Golden Manner, B'Nai Brith, and Jewish Family Services.

Jack Efron was disciplined and worked hard all his life; He was a successful attorney, well regarded and respected by his clients, colleagues and the entire legal community. He set a standard of excellence and collegiality. He was admired for his skill and for his gentlemanly interactions, along with his natty attire.

Jack is survived by his children, Loraine Efron, Lanie and her husband Ed Bailey, and Barry and his wife Cathy. He is survived by his six grandchildren, Rachel Kutler, Stephanie Kutler, Abby Efron, Adam Efron, Courtney Bailey, and Andrew Bailey. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara (Ronnie), and brother, Richard H. Efron, as well as his nephew, Harris Argo and niece, Robyn Abelow. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mitzi, and his parents, Abe and Ellen Efron.

Jack's warm smile, humor, and generosity will be deeply missed but fondly remembered. His legacy will continue to inspire us every day.
A graveside service was held on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Agudas Achim Memorial Gardens Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
