Jamye Pressly Obituary
Jamye Avanelle Whatley Pressly, 91, of San Antonio, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025-her birthday. Born in 1934 in Corpus Christi, she grew up near Odem, Texas. Jamye graduated from Southwestern University and began her teaching career in Austin, where she met and married James B. (Jim) Pressly in 1958. They moved to San Antonio in 1960, raising two children, Sarah and Elliott. Jamye taught in NEISD and SAISD and was a devoted member and Elder at Covenant Presbyterian Church. After Jim's passing in 2003, Jamye traveled widely and cherished time with her grandson, Sam. She moved to Morningside at the Meadows in 2023, where she was lovingly cared for until her passing. She is survived by her children, Sarah Pressly (Kate Alexander) and
Elliott Pressly; grandson Sam James (Mikayla Josefchuck); brother Richard Whatley; and extended family.
Memorial Service: May 24, 2025, 11:00 a.m., Covenant Presbyterian Church, San Antonio.
