JoAnn will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and church family. An active lover of sports, JoAnn loved cheerleading and playing basketball as a young woman growing up in Goodrich, Texas. One of her fondest memories from that time took place during her senior year when the basketball team went to state. In her later years, Nana loved watching "her boys" play sports and music and she loved fixing them treat bags – the perfect after school snack.
JoAnn loved the Lord with all her heart and all her strength above all else and was a strong, spiritual, woman. She was a dedicated Sunday School teacher for over 60 years, touching the lives of hundreds of children. One of her favorite periods of teaching God's word to children was when she co-taught with her daughter Brenda for Children's Church. JoAnn was a powerful prayer woman, and she loved her early morning Bible and Prayer time during which she would study God's word and keep all her family members in her prayers.
Both Brenda and Bubba made their mother proud and were a source of love and encouragement. JoAnn's greatest joy was her granddaughters but then came along her great grandsons, and they were the true love of her life. She led a full and blessed life and her passing leaves a hole in the family, even as we rejoice in knowing that she rests in the arms of her Lord Jesus.
