Jose Leal Obituary

LEAL
Jose J. Leal Jr., beloved son, brother, uncle and nephew, entered rest on June 8, 2012 at the young age of 52. A native of San Antonio, he was born to Jose de Jesus and Dora Garcia Leal on August 12, 1959. He graduated from Fox Tech High School and became a long-time press operator with various companies, but was a loyal employee at the San Antonio Express-News. Joe was a man of very few words, but his words spoke volumes with meaning and laughter. Also, through his actions, the passion he had for his family and friends spoke louder than any words could ever describe. He understood the meaning of "family" and his parents and siblings would do anything to help him. He was a dependable, loyal and respectful man, who will never be forgotten. He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents; brothers and sisters: Linda Rodriguez and husband Amado, Bob Leal and wife Grace Rodriguez, Terry Cortez and husband Robert, Mark G. Leal and fiancée Marisol Hernandez. His nephew, Robert Michael Elizondo Jr., who he helped raise and was like a son to him. Joe gave Robert Michael the love and affection that a growing boy needs and for this his memory will forever live through him. Other beloved nieces and nephews: Armando, Leticia and Daniel Rodriguez, Dorothy, Robert Jr., Jessica Ann, Marky and Richie Leal; great-niece and nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, June 14 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers with Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., Friday, June 15 2012 to celebrate a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery III. Please visit www.funerariadelangelroyakers.com for online tributes.

On behalf of myself and my family we would to say thank you to everyone for all the thoughts and prayers that everyone has sent to our family. This has been one of the hardest things that we have had to go through. We know my brother Joe is in a much better place and he will forever be in our hearts. His memory will forever live through my son Robert Michael. Again thank you all for all the thoughts and prayers. Much love and blessings to all.

God will show you the way to a better life cousin and there you will find peace and you will also see others family members that have gotten there before us give them your hand and they will show you the way to our grandmother and many others so when you see my daddy tell him hi for me and that I miss him dearly.

I have worked with Joe for years at both Prime Time Newspapers and the San Antonio Express-News. Joe was a good man, hard and honest worker and will be missed by us all. May you find a little peace in knowing he is now sitting beside our heavenly father.

I never had an oppertunity to say "Thank You", to Joe for being a great uncle, but most importantly a great father figure to our son Robert M Elizondo. There are not enough words to show my graditude to Joe for all he did for Robert Michael.
"Good people pass away; the godly often die before their time. But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that god is protecting them from the evil to come. For those who follow godly path will rest in peace when they die." Isaiah 57:1-2
