July 17, 2025
Sr. Josephine Ochoa, FMA, born in Mexico City, and the first of 13 children, died peacefully on July 17, 2025 at the age of 75 in San Antonio, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Sergio Manuel Ochoa and Blanca Elsa Mendoza Oliveros and her brother Melchiades.

Sr. Josephine lived and served joyfully, primarily by ministering to young people as a teacher and catechist from 1971-1987 in New Jersey and Florida, and as a teacher and Principal from 1987-2025 in Texas as well as in Northern & Southern California.

Sr. Josephine will be greatly missed by her community and all the Salesian Sisters.

Visitation begins Monday, July 21, at 4:00pm followed by the Rosary at 7:00pm. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30am Tuesday, July 22. Funeral services will be held at the Salesian Sisters' Provincial House, 6019 Buena Vista St. San Antonio, TX 78237 and interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery No. 2, San Antonio, TX.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vocation Program of the Salesian Sisters, at the above address.
