Juan Martinez Obituary

Juan Martinez Jr.
November 26, 1950 - November 30, 2023
Juan, 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 30, 2023 knowing his beloved wife Stella would be awaiting him at the pearly gates of heaven. Juan was born in San Antonio, Texas and was an alumni of Fox Tech, where he participated in sports and had numerous friends. He was in the Armed Forces from 1970-1980 and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War and enlisted in the reserves.

Juan worked for the City of San Antonio Radio Shop as a technician and enjoyed 40 successful years. He met mentors and had many dear friends. In his retirement years, Juan discovered a unique way to continue his passion for helping others by frequently shopping at Goodwill. Beyond finding unique treasures, Juan forged meaningful friendships within the community. Juan will be remembered for his sense of humor, helping people, and his commitment to living each day to the fullest.

Mr Martínez we will miss you at Goodwill. One of our best customers. Always with a smile on his face, joking around and always wanting our store to close at 9 pm. Thank you for the memories. May you rest in peace.

Juan, my good friend, you will be sorely missed. I already miss our talks and you never collected on all those rainchecks for lunch. I am glad you got to spend time with your family and friends after retirement. I forgave you for abandoning me here at work but you deserved your time away after all those years. You taught me a lot and also how to tell if a restaurant was good or bad depending on how good their tortillas were. Say hi to Stella and Edmund and look after my grandson. Rest in peace and till we meet again, bye my friend or as you would say pardner.

Juanito was part of the Smith Street gang who enjoyed riding our wheels (bicycles). We enjoyed our lives with playing games that this generation hasn't even heard of ! Marbles, spinning tops, making and shooting sling shots, BB guns, hunting bobwhie quail in Elmendorf Tx....I could go on but that would be an adventure . So long my Good Friend...see you when I see you. Rest in peace. Walter B Dromgoole
