Kyle McNeely Obituary

MCNEELY
KYLE LANSING MCNEELY

Our precious angel was delivered to us on October 20, 1981 at Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, California. He left the bonds of earth to touch the face of God on May 18, 2012. Kyle graduated from the first graduating class of Ronald Reagan High School in San Antonio where he served as Student Council President. He graduated in the top 5% of his class. After high school graduation, Kyle attended the University of Texas and earned a bachelor's degree and master's degree in advertising. Apple was his first job upon graduation from UT. At the time of his death, he was working for Adlucent, an online retail internet marketing company in Austin. Kyle loved his family especially his nieces. He loved the mountains, running marathons, writing poetry, and many other creative ventures. Those celebrating Kyle's life are his mother, Janet Onion McNeely, his father, David Lansing McNeely, his sister and her husband, Kelly and Sammy Ramirez, and his nieces, Rory and Payton Ramirez. There are extended family members and many friends who knew the beauty of Kyle's heart and soul. Kyle will be deeply missed but will live on in the Love he left behind in so many. A celebration of life ceremony was held Saturday, May 26, at Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum in Austin, Texas with Flint Sparks officiating. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life gathering at La Posada del Rey Restaurant in San Antonio on Saturday, June 2 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request you and your loved ones to donate in Kyle's name (Attention: Neli Plourde, Curator) to the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum, 605 Robert E. Lee Road, Austin, Texas, 78704.

Mr and Mrs McNeely,
I was deeply saddened to hear of Kyle's passing. I was his Boss at The Daily Texan at UT. After that he came to work with my Independent Student newspaper, The Austin Student. He was a very handsome, funny young man who brightened the room when he entered. I was so grateful for his loyalty, passion and hard work with our publication. He was always one of my favorites. My heart and prayers go out to you and your loved ones. I regret that I couldn't make it in for his memorial service. I will forever remember Kyle and his big smile.
