Leonard Howard Obituary
Leonard Weldon Howard, born October 7, 1932 in San Antonio, TX, died in Corpus Christi, TX on October 4, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Sarah Marjorie (Pat) Howard and his brother Forrest C. Howard.
Leonard Howard, known to his family and school friends as Weldon or "Blue", graduated from Edison High School in 1951. He earned a BS degree in geology from Texas Western College in El Paso, TX. He also received a commission in the US Army in 1955 through the ROTC program. After serving two years active duty, Leonard resumed his Geological studies at the University of Kansas where he earned a Master's degree in 1959. Leonard relocated his family to Corpus Christi, TX for employment as a petroleum geologist with Texaco. He later became an independent petroleum geologist.
Leonard Howard is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Howard, his daughter Patricia Riggs (husband Billy), his sons Dana W. Howard (wife Roxanne) and Corey W. Howard (wife Julie)and by nine grandchildren.
Funeral services for Leonard W. Howard will be held at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Corpus Christi, TX, on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 10:00am. A grave side service will take place at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in San Antonio, TX, Monday at 2:30pm.

Remembering you and your loved one today and always. Leonard Howard was a real good person and truly a great friend. I´ve enjoyed knowing him and playing Tennis with him for many years. He is one of my fondness memories. (from a tennis buddy & a veteran)

I have many fond memories of Leonard Howard. He was always glad to see you and the Howard home has been a warm, welcoming place since my first visit over 30 years ago. He will be greatly missed.
