Leroy Daniels Obituary

Leroy J. Daniels, age 70, of San Antonio, died at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, October 6, 2001. Leroy and Danielle Kolodzie were married by Father John Flynn 27 years ago. He was employed at Lone Star Brewery for 42 years. Leroy enlisted along with several friends in the U.S. Air Force in 1950. His hobby was woodworking and he gave many treasured gifts to his family that he handcrafted. He enjoyed weekend ranching with his wife and family in Bebe, TX and he made annual hunting trips to Colorado. He was fondly called "Papaw" by his first grandchild, Claire, whom he and his wife "Mamaw" cared for in her first year and a half. Survivors: wife, Danielle (Dee) Daniels; sister, Betty Long, Beaumont, TX; children, David A. Daniels, Margaret A. Daniels, Gregory J. Daniels, wife, Virginia and their children, Claire and Waylon. Other surviving family members include the Glenn Miller family of San Antonio. ROSARY WEDNESDAY 7:00 P.M. OUR LADY OF GRACE CATHOLIC CHURCH MASS THURSDAY 1:00 P.M. OUR LADY OF GRACE CATHOLIC CHURCH Interment with Military Honors in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Steven Kalter and his staff, especially Bridget and Audrey for their compassionate care. Most especially, the family feels a tremendous impact in the power of the grace received when Msgr. Lawrence Walsh baptized Leroy in the Catholic faith, for which they are profoundly grateful.
