Malcolm Homeier Obituary

MALCOLM TUBBS HOMEIER
July 13, 1940 - January 7, 2026
Malcolm Tubbs Homeier, age 85, of San Antonio, Texas passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Homeier with whom he shared a loving 64 years of marriage. He is also survived by his children, David (Rita) Homeier; Carolyn (Hal) Pickett; and Kenneth (Stephanie) Homeier as well as six grandchildren: Nathan (Margot) Homeier; Leah Homeier; Mitchell (Taylor) Pickett; Emily (Raymond) Limeta; Gavin Homeier, Jackson Athey and one great granddaughter, Skylar Athey. Malcolm's parents, William and Leonora Homeier, preceded him in death.

Malcolm was born July 13, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas. He spent his youth playing little league baseball, but his love was tinkering with amateur radios as a HAM operator. His love of radios took him into his life-long profession with CPS Energy beginning in 1959 where the majority of his 38 ½ years was spent in the Radio and Communications department. After retirement in 1998, he became a tractor enthusiast. He restored seven tractors including Case, Allis-Chalmers and John Deere, among others. He thoroughly enjoyed participating and driving his tractors in local parades in Boerne and Comfort and other surrounding towns. Malcolm was the Director and 20-year member of the Agricultural Heritage Center in Boerne, Texas. His vast knowledge and love of tractors enabled him to share his historical expertise with many visitors and school children's field trips. He enjoyed driving his tractor with his agriculture tractor group where he pulled a "people wagon" though various Texas Hill Country towns.

Malcolm was united in marriage to Kathleen Flanning on August 19, 1961. They met on a blind date and love blossomed into 64 years of a happy, love journey. Malcolm was always working with his hands and with the help of family and friends in 1980 built his custom home from the ground up. He had a bountiful vegetable garden where he canned and shared the harvest with family and friends. Another pastime Malcolm enjoyed was his and Kathleen's participation in a bowling league. Additionally, they travelled to many different locations throughout the US and surrounding countries as well as several cruises.

Malcolm will be deeply missed by all, but mostly by his family. To leave the family a condolence message, visit www.PorterLoring.com.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Porter Loring Mortuary, located at 1101 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, TX 78212. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with David Homeier officiating. Malcolm will be laid to rest at Mission Burial Park North, 20900 IH-10 W, San Antonio, TX 78257.
