Margot Oviedo Obituary

Margot Oviedo
September 13, 1958 - August 17, 2025
Margot Oviedo entered eternal rest on August 17, 2025, at age 66. She was born on September 13, 1958, in San Antonio to Lydia and Rodolfo Oviedo. Margot was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elton Jackson; her loving parents; and her brother-in-law, Ryan Fletcher.
Margot earned a master's degree in sociology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Her professional achievements and contributions impacted the Texas Workforce Commission and three scholarly research departments at UTSA. One of her professional highlights was from 2010 to 2012, when she coordinated and directed the administration of Read Malawi; aimed at making books available to the young and beginning readers attending schools in Malawi. This endeavor included visiting recipients of Read Malawi in East Africa.
Margot is survived by many of her siblings, nephews, and cousins; including her cherished family in Mexico.
Margot's memorial service will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Saturday, October 11th, 2025, at 10:00 AM. For more information, please visit www.missionparks.com.

I worked with Margot at the San Antonio TWC Telecenter. She always had a cheerful attitude and a very pleasant demeanor. May her soul rest in peace.
