Mariette Regets Obituary

Mariette B. (Fontaine) Regets, born on March 22, 1928 in Derby, Vermont, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family and friends, on February 5, 2008 in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from the Fanny Allen School of Nursing in Burlington, VT in June of 1949 and certified by the Vermont State Board of Nursing. Mariette was a Graduate of the U.S. Air Force School of Aviation Medicine at Gunter AFB, Alabama in 1953 and Registered by Endorsement in Texas in March of 1965. She worked as a Registered Nurse at various facilities in Texas, including Audie L. Murphy Memorial Hospital and St. Luke's in San Antonio, New Braunfels Nursing Home, Big Spring State Hospital, Moses Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga, NY and was a flight nurse in the U.S. Air Force, where she was Honorably Discharged as a First Lieutenant. She was well known and adored by her friends and family at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Mariette was preceded in death by her daughter, Alice Sysyn; sisters, Eda Fontaine and Ann Bernard; and brother, Gerard Fontaine. She is survived by her sons, Gregory Regets and wife, Joni and Philip Regets and wife, Stephanie; brother, Joe Fontaine; grandchildren, Harmony, Alexander and Conrad. SERVICES Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2008 beginning at 6:00 PM, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 4201 DeZavala Rd., San Antonio, TX 78249. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, February 8, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the church. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with Air Force Honors.
