Michael (Mike) Hugh Todd, age 81, passed away on September 16, 2023 after a lengthy illness in Sugar Land, Texas. He was born on April 27, 1942 in Whittier, California to William Hugh Todd and Eleanor Broman Todd. His family soon moved to Escalon, CA, and later, to Lodi, CA. He always enjoyed sports, played football in high school, and later, golfing became his lifelong hobby.
After serving an enlistment in the US Army, Mike attended California Polytechnic State College, San Luis Obispo, CA and graduated in 1967 with a B.S. Degree in Political Science. He later earned a M.A. from Webster University. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the US Army Medical Service Corps in 1967 and his career took him to many locations in the U.S. and overseas. He especially enjoyed his tour in Germany and greatly enjoyed traveling to other nearby countries. He retired at Fort Sam Houston, Texas as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1991. After leaving the military, Mike and his wife engaged in numerous private restaurant and real estate ventures. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and over the course of their trips, they visited numerous countries throughout Asia and Europe.
Mike is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jenny, his son, Christopher Todd and daughter-in-law, Patricia, his stepdaughter Laura Williams, stepson George Weron and his wife Kristen, five grandchildren, Zen, Mike, Jack, Addelyn, and Johnston, his brother, William Eric Todd, and his niece and nephew, David Todd and Erica Krenner.
A committal service will be held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to UNICEF.
