Olivia Alcantara Obituary

Olivia R. Alcantara born in Del Rio, Texas, November 10, 1920, welcomed into God's embrace January 9, 2008. She is preceded in death by her husband, J.M. Alcantara, Sr., and son, Tony Rodriguez. Loving mother, grandmother, mentor, teacher and loving friend to many. She is survived by her children: Sylvia Shurgot from Abilene, Texas, Jose M. Jr. and Lydia Alcantara, Robert and Hilda Alcantara, Dan Alcantara, Luis Alcantara and Teresa and Osvaldo Longoria; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will begin Sunday, January 13, 2008 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm at the Castillo Mission Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral procession will depart Monday, January 14, 2008 at 11:00 am for an 11:45 am Mass at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church with interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
