Paul Napper Obituary
Paul Eugene Napper, age 93, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019, in San Antonio. He was born on February 10, 1925, in Springfield, Missouri, to parents, Nellie M. and Elmer Eugene Napper. Gene graduated from Jefferson High School in 1942 and Texas A&M University in 1946. Paul served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Pacific Theater. He operated Kindell Tire Company and was later a Service Advisor for Cavender Automotive Group. Paul was very active at his church, Manor Baptist Church, later becoming First Mexican Baptist Church, where he was honored as Deacon Emeritus. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Annie Ruth Cooner Napper. Gene is survived by his sons, Larry C. Napper (Mary Linton), Gary Eugene Napper (Terri), and Bill J. Napper; grandchildren, Tracey Priddy (Carl), John David Napper (Angela), and Robert Eugene Napper (Whitney); 5 great grandchildren; and dear friend, Doran Dennis. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at 10:00 A.M., at First Mexican Baptist Church, 201 Meredith Drive. Pastor Flores will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VITAS Hospice or First Mexican Baptist Church.

Paul had a very special place in the life of our son,
Colin McDonald, during our time at Manor Baptist "Church. I am sure many parents feel the same . Paul was such an inspiration to the children he taught. So sorry I only knew about his death a few days ago; after the funereal.

I loved Paul! He was a wonderful Christian man and he added immeasurably to my life here at Morningside Meadows. He and his friend, Elizabeth Griggs, taught me to play "42" and they were both so patient with me. We still talk about Paul when we are playing that old Texas game and what fun we had with him. RIP, sweet Paul, and I know you will.

Tracey and family, Thank you for sharing your grandfather with me through the years. I shall always remember his smile and the Bill Miller Brownies he always brought to the gatherings. He will be missed by all. He was a great man!
