Philip Craig Obituary
Philip James Craig, age 90 passed away peacefully on June 6, 2016 after courageously battling Parkinson's disease for the past 3 years. He was born on September 11, 1925 in New York City. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin obtaining a BA in 1955 followed by his MA in 1956. He served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II and the U.S. Army as 1st Lt. during the Korean War. After his discharge, he was employed by Tower Life Ins. Company as a VP, Actuary for over 30 years, retiring in 1995. Jim enjoyed traveling the world, photography, guitar, music, an avid learner and was loyal to his family, friends and the Dallas Cowboys. He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Craig. He is survived by his stepchildren, Patrick Plumb, Patricia Treadwell, Pamela Plumb; grandchildren, Matthew, Justin, Brian, Josie, Bella; great grandchildren, Colt and Gage. The family wishes to acknowledge Joseph Garza, the staff at Sonterra Health Center and New Century Hospice for their dedication to enriching his life during his final journey. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Mission Park North. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, June 10, 2016 at Mission Burial Park North.
