I am glad to have been a dental student of such a wonderful faculty member. (UMKC Dental Class 1966). Dr. Jones treated me no different being the second Afro-American to attend the dental school. Dr. Jones was instrumental in helping recruit other minorities to the Dental School. He was a wonderful and honest man. I am proud to have worked with Dr. Phillip Jones. The photo was taken with my wife, Gerri, at the 2005 Commencement.

I was saddened to learn of the death of Dr. Philip Jones. He was one of my teachers while in dental school. He was an outstanding, devoted educator. After joining the faculty he was a mentor to me, and, more importantly,a friend. John I. Haynes, Pediatic Dentistry
