Quentin Meyer Obituary

Quentin Desmond Meyer
June 23, 1939 - December 3, 2023
Quentin passed away from the effects of Parkinson's Disease at 84 years of age. He was proud of his Alsatian heritage and marrying a beautiful Alsatian girl, Rita Joan Hoffmann. They were married for 59 years. Preceding him in death were his wife and parents, Joseph Carl Meyer and Frances Marie Gay. He is survived by his sons Michael William and wife Anne Herff, Stephen Jerome and wife Julie Kidd; granddaughter Danielle Meyer Urbina and husband Edward Urbina, grandson Joshua Igor Meyer, great grandson Braden John Urbina; brothers Conan Gay Meyer and Terry B. Meyer.

Quentin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle who touched us all with his dedication to family. He relished family reunions, gatherings, events and milestones. He was a dedicated Catholic who enjoyed the brotherhood and camaraderie of the International Order of Alhambra and the Knights of Columbus.

Throughout his life he had a passion for both athletic and hunting sports. It was important for him to teach the next generations an appreciation for both types of sports. Whether coaching neighborhood kids or enjoying family hunting trips with his brothers, sons, nephews or great nephews, he always wanted everyone to have a memorable experience.

Our family has been touched by the remembrances that have been shared from Central Catholic classmates, Tau Delta Sigma Fraternity Brothers (St. Mary's University), friends and numerous nickel poker pals.

Quentin will be remembered for his eagerness to greet each day with renewed energy, his commitment to community involvement and getting together to celebrate.

Mike and Steve,

We are deeply saddened by Uncle Quentin's passing. He will be dearly missed. All the times I was able to spend with him are some of the greatest memories in my life. He always made get togethers with family and friends more special with his unique personality. Uncle Quentin helped me realize the importance of time spent together. I'm adding two of my favorite pictures with him. The night we left our deer camp to have supper with Uncle Gay at his deer camp (that was a night I will never forget), and the fishing trip when Uncle Quentin wrestled a kingfish in the back of the boat. Uncle Quentin won, we ate the fish.
We love you Uncle Quentin.

Love, Brian Meyer family
