A good example of Rick's wit and humor was when he feigned jealousy about his cousin Kevin Kolodzie's 11-point, 400-lb. buck, shot with a bow and arrow. Rick wrote: what weapon did the deer have?....shoot, I rassle 'em down and punch some bigger than that...at the mall...Bass Outdoors...just sayin'. When reminded of his dad's story about the time he was in a tree blind & got buck fever so bad he couldn't shoot & thought about throwing the rifle at the deer Rick wrote: not true...it was an elephant, with horns, screaming profanities about my mother, and it had a bazooka...anybody would get fever...to this day I bet he's deaf from my screaming...just sayin'.
Just to think about Rick always brings a loving smile.

Rick was a good friend who served others, especially people with special needs. Rick had a great sense of humor and wit, was a very bright student, and could be at ease in any group of people. We shared many good times and I miss him. Even though we were unable to stay in touch, I will always cherish Rick's encouragement and the many kindnesses of the Demunbrun family - my thoughts and prayers are with you.
God's speed, my friend; I miss you.

Rick was my good friend and I'll miss him a lot. Although we saw each other infrequently over the past few decades our high school years were filled with many great memories that I'll always cherish. RIP my brother.

Rick touched many more than you can imagine. One wanted to be his friend, to have Rick around. He was a delight and a good man. He was able to share personal time with everyone - I myself having shared a brief "story" he told me back in our high school days. I've never forgotten it. He made me feel that it was MY personal story he gave to just me. His next friend would get his own shared time in turn. Even though I had lost touch, I have always remembered Rick and always will. God speed, ol' friend.
