Robert Stickney Obituary

August 29, 1948 - July 4, 2015
Robert Allen Stickney, known to his friends and family as "Bob", passed away peacefully at the age of 66 on Saturday, July 4, 2015. Bob was born in New York City, NY to Stanley and Mary Stickney on August 29, 1948. He proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force. Upon his retirement, he settled in San Antonio where he had successful careers at USAA and Via Metropolitan Transit System. His passion, however, was photography and much of his spare time was spent "behind the lens" capturing memories of his closest friends and family, his international travels, and the great outdoors, especially the Texas Hill Country. Bob is survived by his parents, Stanley and Mary Stickney, his children Dustin Stickney and Jennifer (Austin) Naegele, his beloved grandchildren Mackenzie and Luke Naegele, his brother Bill Stickney, his fiancée Kathy Creel, and many dear friends who meant the world to him. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 from 5:30-8:00 P.M. at Mission Park North Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 9:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Padua Place, 80 Peter Basque Rd, SA, TX 78209.

Bob was a fine co-worker and a good friend. Even after we both retired we stayed in touch for awhile and shared some great stories. He will be sorely missed. HE WAS MY FRIEND!!!

Bob was the best boss I ever had. He always had an even temper and respect for those that worked with us at USAA. I was proud to know him as the boss that became a good friend.
