December 22, 1935 - March 28, 2024
Robert Duane Westphal, 88, Retired SGM Army, went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was welcomed to this earth on December 22, 1935, by Robert Emil and Mary Ellen Westphal in Lafayette, Indiana.
Robert is preceded by his beloved wife Ursula Herr Westphal, both his parents, his brother Ronald E. Westphal and wife Mildred.
He is survived by his loving children Pia A. Goodman and husband James, Nancy S. Villegas and husband Gilbert, Denis R. Westphal, Randy D. Westphal and wife Alma; sister Barbara Buxton; grandchildren Chelsea Cook, Jordan Westphal, Brooke Mauser, Cody Mauser (Caitlin), Sydney Mauser, Chloe Arguello (Armando), Desiree, Joshua Rodriguez; great grandchildren Sierra, Randy, Ralph, Olivia, Amari, Zaria, Valentino and Sylar.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, Robert will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday April 9, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. A chapel service will take place on Wednesday April 10, 2024, at 12:45 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South.
Interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Bob, as I sit here just remembering of all those years we met and work for you, I had the honor of knowing you and your family. I want to thank you for again been a great friend to me and my family. Now my son RIP whom you always asked about and his health and welfare, will see you again both in the hands of our loving GOD. I always will know you as my Hefe. RIP and "Slaute" to you my brother in Arms.
