Robert Yanes Obituary
Robert Gil Yanes was called home by the Lord on November 18, 2017, at the age of 72. He was born in Luling, Texas, on February 24, 1945. During his life, he worked as a car salesman for several dealerships, and eventually opened his own business. After his retirement, Robert went "back to school" as a bus driver for the Divine ISD. He and the children enjoyed a mutually life-giving relationship, as son Thomas discovered in the notes the children would write him, all of which expressed warm and pure sentiments of affection. He is preceded in death by his son, Sammy D. Yanes; parents, Pilar O. Yanes and Faustina Gil Yanes; and sisters, Esther Y. Garcia and Mary Ann Y. Pecina. He is survived by his children, Robert Jr., Thomas Robert (Vanessa), Debra Ann (Fernando), Victoria (Jason) and Catalina (Efrain); 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Frances Olmos and Otilia Robles (Louis); nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017, at Nuestra Señora de San Juan de los Lagos, 3231 El Paso St, San Antonio, TX 78207. Burial will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II. Services under the direction of Castillo Mission Funeral Home.
