Rudy Elizondo Obituary
Loving husband and father, Rudy T. Elizondo passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2011. He was born on November 12, 1953 in Laredo, Texas to the late Leocadio and Irene Trevino Elizondo. Rudy will be deeply missed by his wife of 37 years, Veronica Lorraine Elizondo; sons, Rudy Elizondo and wife Elizabeth, Karlos Elizondo and wife Madeline. Rudy was excitedly looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild, Aldo Rodolfo Elizondo, in October. Other surviving family members include sisters, Antonia Elizondo and Juanita Cruz, and several extended family members. Rudy leaves behind a legacy of love, patience and selflessness with an unending dedication to his family. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 6:00 P.M. followed by the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd. The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Brigid's Catholic Church, 6907 Kitchener Rd. The interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North. I am so sorry for your loss. I remember that after Charlie had had his heart surgery and could not reach high enough to put up our American flag, Rudy came over and drove in the post so that Charlie could keep putting up the flag every day. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

As I sit here at home looking at this obituary in tears and can't believe that Mr Elizondo as I knew him as a child is gone to the eternal life I just want to let Lorraine,Rudy and Karlos know that I wish I had the words to comfort them but I don't it hurts me so much that it was like I have lost my own dad cuz he was like a dad to me as Rudy and myself grew up together here in the westside and went to school together throughout.Rudy you are like a brother that I never had and I'm so thankful to the man upstairs that you have been a part of my life. Brother I will always be here for you as long as God permits me to be here on Earth. Even though we don't hang out as much I always have you in my prayers. Also want to tell you that you are my role model and I look up to you. My second mom and dad did a great job with you and Karlos cuz ya turned out to be great men in this earth. Love Ya very much and God Bless.Your son Aldo will be the strength for you and your family. The lord has taken away an angel but is returning you another with the birth of your son.I know that you and Liz will be great parents and also lead him to the right path.

To the Elizondo Family. My condolences on your loss. I met Rudy when he was a student of my fathers in Auto Mechanics at Edgewood High School back in the early 70's. He had a blue 1956 Chevy named "Blue Thunder". I remember him well. He was one of my dad's best students. May the Lord keep you close and give you strength during this time of loss. God Bless you.

DEAR vERONICA AND FAMILY,
I read the Obits today and to my suprise I saw Rudy's picture there. We are truly sorry for his departure from this earth. I know that when he took his last breath here on this earth, Our Heavenly Father opened his gates for him to come in. We will keep you in our prayers.
As you know that Rudy and I were very close in Edgewood High School, he was my shop foreman in his senior year and I was a new instructor, he helped me so much with all of the students. Then when you got married, I was his Best Man.

Prayers and symphathy to The Elizondo Family. Although, I knew Rudy for a short time , I enjoyed conversing with him. From our discussions of dogs, grass seeds, cars it was always pleasant talking to him. He was always especially proud of his children whose accomlishments he discussed often.
