Ruth Reif Obituary

Ruth Fuchs Reif, age 74, of San Antonio, died Thursday, April 5, 2001. She was a child survivor of the Holocaust and came to the United States in 1949 with her 3-year-old son and husband. She was a well known and active member of Congregation Agudas Achim for over 50 years, a member of Hadassah and active in other Jewish Community Activities. She was well liked by everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband Felix Reif in 1968 and son, Sam Reif in 1984. Survivors: daughters, Helena Reif Gossen and husband Steven, San Antonio, TX, Arlene Reif Hoffman and husband Marshall, Houston, TX; grandchildren, Foster Reif, Dallas, TX, Elliott and Austin Hoffman, Houston, TX, and Emily and Eleanor Gossen, San Antonio, TX. GRAVESIDE SERVICE FRIDAY - 5:00 P.M. AGUDAS ACHIM MEMORIAL PARK Rabbi Arnold Scheinberg and Cantor David Silverstein officiating. Pallbearers: Steven Gossen, Foster Reif, Elliott Hoffman, Austin Hoffman, Dr. Robert Schnitzler, Dr. Gary Gossen, Dr. Sherwin Schwartz and Milton Block. Honorary pallbearers: Joey, Robi, Marvin and Carol Jalnos. In lieu of flowers, donations to Congregation Agudas Achim, American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association. Arrangements with Porter Loring Mortuary.
