I was so saddened to hear of Stella's passing and even more upset with myself that I had not kept in better touch with her. I thought of her so many times and wish I had just picked up the phone. She used to play bunco with us and I used to pick her up at her home and we would drive together and have such wonderful conversations. We were there at the sudden passing of her son and she spoke of him most highly and in depth of what it meant to lose him on those bunco drives. She also spoke of her illness and how it was not going to get her down. Stella and Dudley enjoyed many a celebration at the home of my parents Paul and Niceta Pappassi. Jello shots and martinis were the drink of choice at these events shared with several of our wonderful friends that are now gone. She always visited my mom when she was in the hospital. Such a caring and devoted friend. I regret so much not visiting or calling her to check in and now it is too late. She is rolling dice up there with Melinda's mom Edith, Charlotte and Dorothy and my mom, Niceta. We miss them all so very much. Tell your dad he was a wonderful partner to your mom, they loved each other so much. Blessings to the family and your dad during this time of the loss of such a wonderful woman. Love to all of you.

My condolences to the Higginbotham family and friends. I knew Mrs. Higginbotham as a student attending Truman MS. As a staff member I knew her as a caring individual. I enjoyed chatting with her on my visits to her campus. Rest in Peace.

I had the pleasure of working with her as a teacher. When I first started teaching myself, I always admired how patient and understanding she was and the kids loved her. I wish I would've told her how much I looked up to her. Be proud of her teaching career. My prayers are with the family. May she Rest In Peace.
