Thomas Fleming Obituary
Angels walk among us...on Sunday, August 3, our Lord the Father took my angel Thomas David Fleming to Heaven. Tom was born in Austin, TX, on October 16, 1946 to William David and Ethel Lucille (Smith) Fleming. Tom was survived by his friend, lover and devoted wife Patricia (Trish) of 20+ years, though we were confidants for 30 years. His spirit lives on with daughter Heather (Fleming) Mills, Scott Mills and our 3 beautiful granddaughters Natalie Grace, Rachel Lauren and Sarah Elaine, as does his laughter. Family wants to thank all our church family for their wonderful support and thank many many friends that help us continue in our love to the end of this brief walk. As we start this next joyous walk, please help us celebrate Tom's blessed and wonderful life together. Please come celebrate one gentleman, love of life, laughter and sharing with people as one. He will be missed terribly. A celebration of Tom's life will be held at Northside Church of Christ, 19818 US Hwy 281 N, San Antonio, TX, 78258-7266, on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 4:00pm. Mike Hartsell and Bruce Utley will officiate. Per his request, Tom will be cremated. To sign the on-line guest book, go to http://www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.com. My sincere condolences to Tom's family. His departure from our world is a great loss. His patient nature, his faith and his music will be missed by all who knew him. But he left us inspired by his example and an awesome legacy. We can feel certain that he is enjoying fellowhip with his Savior and a well-earned reward in Heavenly spheres. There is much comfort in that knowledge. May God bless his family and his friends in their time of loss.

Tom was a friend of mine, and every so often, when he came down to Laredo, he would make time to have lunch or coffee and conversation with me before leaving town...I will miss that very much. May your memory endure as inspiration for deeds of charity and goodness in our lives.

Trish, you and your families are all in my thoughts and prayers. We are reminded of the great hope we have as Christians; that when Christ returns, we will see our loved ones once again, and forever be with our Lord. Thank you for being the great examples you both have been and continue to be to the rest of those around you. Also, for sharing your lives with so many, and for sharing so many blessings along the way! God bless and keep you in His loving arms. May we all honor Tom's memory by living our lives to the fullest. Love you!

We thought Tom was indeed a gentleman and always enjoyed talking to him when he serviced our optical frames at the Dr. Palys Vision Source office for many years. He will be missed by all optometrists and staff opticians. He knew the frame business and we always learned the latest fashion tips during his visits. We appreciated your service and advice!

As a fellow Liederkranz singer in the great second bass, we have another great loss of a great guy in a short period of time. The best is we have some great Liederkranz guys in heaven, but I know we all feel the loss and share the sorrow.
