One of the greatest influences on me as a student at St. Michael Central High School. Really made me aware of how being involved in politics can truly change things and why the social sciences matter. Rest In Peace Tom.

Brother Tom,
You have left us one way but you will always be with us. To your family, I knew him from his time at the UA. He was a great influence and I know he cherished his family. He practiced what he spoke and always a champion for people. I am a better person for knowing him.

I was very fortunate to know Tom as my junior religion teacher in HS and as one of my political science professors at STMU. When he was visiting Chicago in 1987, he accompanied me on a first date with a young lady, who later became my wife. I again saw him in 2007 and in 2012. A very good man, who had a greater influence on my life, than he realized. Rest in peace, Tom.

My sympathy to the family of Tom. In addition to his teaching, Tom extended his reach into the community. Tom was about social justice - consistent, wise, supportive, engaged and inspirational. We will miss you.

I have fond memories of Tom and fun times years ago. I admire how he faced his struggles and his dedication to teaching and scholarship. He studied warm images of God and their influence (based on Andy Greeley) May Tom know that divine warmth and love in the communion of saints. I will offer Mass for him.
