William Holbrook Obituary

William Heflin Holbrook
February 21, 1951 - February 7, 2025
William Heflin Holbrook, carpenter extraordinaire, music savant, master gardener, and collector of art, died Friday February 7th 2025 at 73 years old.
William(Bill) was born in Somerset Kentucky February 21, 1951 to the late Garnett & Milton Holbrook. He moved to San Antonio when he was just a baby and was a proud San Antonian his entire life. He is survived by his two children, Milton A.D. Holbrook(Denise), and Emily G. Hutto(Jared), along with 7 grandchildren. Also survived by his three older siblings Judith C. Childre, Stephen M. Holbrook, and Donald M. Holbrook.
Bill lived an eccentric life that was full of adventure, nature, music, and art. As a pioneer of modern skateboarding, he was part of the generation that shaped the sport as we know it today. He was an avid camper and enjoyed building sweat lodges to share with friends. His creativity ranged from growing award winning vegetables, to constructing one of a kind art installations, to playing bass in the family band alongside his great love, Micy Yokum. Bill was also a skilled craftsman that took a lot of pride in his contributions to the architectural beauty of Alamo Heights, Terrell Hills, San Antonio, and many surrounding areas.
And of course, this tribute would not be complete without mention of his treasured record collection. May the music connect our spirits forever. Rest in love.

I'll be missing you, Bill. Listening to and talking about music. We liked the same stuff. We both played Bass and enjoyed the music scene. I'll see you soon and we'll jam! Love you Brother!
