We had the pleasure of meeting Art as a burn survivor. We will always remember his generosity. This news has saddened us as we had hoped to all meet up again someday for karaoke. We love you Art and pray for your family.

I have just learned the sad news of Art's passing and wish to express my deepest condolences to his family and friends. As a fellow burn survivor, I echo George Lombard’s sentiments regarding our dear friend. Reading of his military record, I am not surprised to learn Art was a man of courage. Though going through times of great stress and difficulty, he always maintained an air of quiet dignity, and will be remembered fondly by his fellow Survivors as a kind spirit who showed understanding and great generosity in helping others deal with issues in their own lives.

May Art be guided by the Light of eternal life, find peace and rest in our Father's arms, and enjoy the joy of having fought the true fight.
Rest in peace Art. Thanks for your kindness.

I knew Art as a burn survivor. His quiet demeanor, patience, generosity and willingness to share his feelings with other burn survivors was truly an inspiration. He made me smile at a time when I really needed it, for which I will always be appreciative and thankful. I will miss him very much. - George Lombard

I remember Art's gentle, contemplative spirit. After every meeting with him, I left a better man, one who had been heard and understood. When giving public testimony at organizations, he was always so calm, stating simply his concerns to rapt listeners. I believe he befriended many just for the privilege of building them up. Though I've had no contact with him for some time now, I felt I could at any moment speak to him casually about important things. His death saddens me terribly. Bob Hunsaker
